Kodak 1922

Kodak maakte deze kleurenfilm in 1922. Dertien jaar voordat de eerste speelfilm in kleur werd uitgebracht.

"George Eastman House is the repository for many of the early tests made by the Eastman Kodak Company of their various motion picture film stocks and color processes. The Two-Color Kodachrome Process was an attempt to bring natural lifelike colors to the screen through the photochemical method in a subtractive color system. First tests on the Two-Color Kodachrome Process were begun in late 1914. Shot with a dual-lens camera, the process recorded filtered images on black/white negative stock, then made black/white separation positives. The final prints were actually produced by bleaching and tanning a double-coated duplicate negative (made from the positive separations), then dyeing the emulsion green/blue on one side and red on the other. Combined they created a rather ethereal palette of hues."

De eerste film met geluid ('talkies') moest toen nog komen. In 1927 kwam de eerste volwaardige speelfilm met geluid, 'The Jazz Singer'.

Campbell Soup

William MacFarland, marketing manager voor Campbell, stuurde deze brief in 1964 naar Andy Warhol. For obvious reasons...

Dear Mr. Warhol:

I have followed your career for some time. Your work has evoked a great deal of interest here at Campbell Soup Company for obvious reasons.

At one time I had hoped to be able to acquire one of your Campbell Soup label paintings - but I'm afraid you have gotten much too expensive for me.

I did want to tell you, however, that we admired your work and I have since learned that you like Tomato Soup. I am taking the liberty of having a couple of cases of our Tomato Soup delivered to you at this address.

We wish you continued success and good fortune.
